SureShade Receives Patent Approval for Manual Boat Shade System
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- SureShade, the U.S. designer and manufacturer of retractable sunshade systems for the marine industry, announces a new “Notice of Allowance” from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its “Manually-operated boat canopy system” that is currently marketed in the recreational boating industry as the SureShade MTF (manual tele-frame) retractable boat shade.
SureShade’s latest patent approval for the SureShade MTF allows the company to be the only retractable boat shade manufacturer in the marine industry to utilize a spring-loaded arm mechanism of any configuration to drive the shade framework to extend canvas over the cockpit or bow of a boat. The deployment and retraction of the spring-loaded shade framework is controlled by a gearbox assembly which also simultaneously tensions the canvas roller.
Operating with a simple hand-lever to extend or retract canvas on a boat, the SureShade MTF manual shade design was first introduced commercially in 2010 as a lighter weight, lower-cost alternative to the SureShade ATF automated shade system. The manual shade has since gained market acceptance as a factory installed marine product – as offered by Boston Whaler’s 285 and 315 Conquest models – and continues to generate significant aftermarket demand as a popular boat accessory upgrade for boat owners.
