Surf Skooter - New Invention that is Redefining Water Sports
Newport Beach, California (PRWEB) July 07, 2015 -- On July 7th 1971, Tom Morey invented the first bodyboard with only a knife, clothing iron, newspaper and block of polyethylene foam. Since that day, millions of bodyboards have been sold, solidifying his idea as the alternative to surfing. On the 44th anniversary of Morey's invention, local inventor - Michael Hoskins, is launching a Kickstarter campaign for a revolutionary product called Surf Skooter. Described as a bodyboard with retractable handle bars, the Surf Skooter aims to improve upon Morey’s original concept and extend the thrill of the ocean to millions more.
Thanks to its patented design, the Surf Skooter features a wide array of riding options. In addition to using the product like a traditional bodyboard, riders can take advantage of the products handlebars, allowing for greater control and maneuverability while kneeboarding or riding prone. The product also features an optional towing accessory that allows everyone to ride behind a boat. The product can even be used as a snow sled, and has received international praise from people who have disabilities or prosthetics.
“I’ve been looking forward to the launch of this product since the day my father and I went to Home Depot and made the first prototype out of plumbing materials nearly 10 years ago. In that time, we’ve spent countless hours engineering, prototyping, and testing. Today, I am confident we are ready to bring the Surf Skooter to life.” said Michael Hoskins.
Hoping to raise $75,000 or more over the next 45 days, Surf Skooter seeks funds to help cover the expense of production. Funders have a number of contribution levels to choose from, each with their own unique perk.
