SurvalentONE System of Choice for Utilities Looking to Upgrade SCADA Software
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (PRWEB) February 27, 2018 -- Survalent, a leading provider of advanced distribution management system (ADMS) software, today announced that it continues to expand its SCADA customer base by adding a broad range of utilities to its roster during 2017.
In the United States alone, 17 customers signed on to deploy the company’s SurvalentONE SCADA application. Most chose Survalent to replace existing systems that lacked modern SCADA functionality, failed to satisfy current security requirements and usability expectations, were not sufficiently scalable to keep up with growth, or could not be economically upgraded to meet long-term needs. Several customers selected Survalent to implement their first-ever SCADA system, a foundational component of grid modernization initiatives that typically also includes the introduction of technology such as smart meters.

Hunstville Utilities, which is based in Alabama, serves some 180,000 electricity, 51,000 gas, and 93,000 water customers respectively. The utility commissioned its new SCADA system in 2017 as the first step in a multi-year plan to modernize their distribution networks. “Survalent’s support during the transition was absolutely excellent,” said Manuel Nin, communications supervisor at Huntsville. “Their experienced engineers worked with us to find a solution to every problem.”
Keith Courson, substation supervisor at the City of Statesville which serves 13,000 customers in North Carolina, echoed Nin’s comments: “I was very pleased with how our project went and the seamless transition from our old system.”
