Svetlana Kuznetsova Heads Back to the US Open
(PRWEB) August 25, 2017 -- Russian Professional Tennis Player Svetlana Kuznetsova is excited to be playing in the 2017 US Open.
The 32 year old tennis star was born to an athletic family and moved from Russia to Spain at a young age to develop her talents. Her father is an acclaimed Olympic cycling coach, while her mother is a 6-time world cycling champion, breaking over 20 world records. But Svetlana has broken records of her own. In 2004, she took home the US Open Title, and shortly after, she finished the 2007 season as World No. 2 - the highest ranked Russian tennis player of all time.
Besides her achievements in Svetlana Kuznetsova has made appearances in several video games as a playable character, including Top Spin 3, Virtua Tennis 2009 and Virtua Tennis 4.
Kuznetsova, who had a noticeable absence this year from the Dubai Tennis Championships and Qatar Total Open due to an injury, made an impressive comeback in the 2017 Indian Wells Championships, with victories over Roberta Vinci and Caroline Garcia. Kuznetsova said recently, “It’s been great getting back to the courts after my injury this year, and I’m ready to take on the U.S. Open."
