(PRWEB) October 31, 2013 -- SVSi is pleased to announce successful plenum certification of its N-series encoders and decoders. By certifying these units as safe for installation in air-handling spaces, SVSi extends the applications of its N1000 and N2000 products. This safety certification allows HDMI, VGA, DVI, or component video to be run over inexpensive passive cabling from a wall-plate (in an auditorium or conference room, for example) to a PoE-powered N1000 or N2000 encoder mounted in an air-handling space and then on to any display on the AV network.
Both N1000 and N2000 encoders and decoders are certified to UL 2043 specifications which determine the rate of heat and smoke release of burning product samples as they relate to the requirements for fire-resistant and low-smoke-producing characteristics in accordance with the provisions of the following codes: National Electric Code, NFPA 70; International Mechanical Code, NFPA 5000; Standard for the Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems, NFPA 90A. These stringent standards relate to health safety in the event of a building fire and are required for placement of appliances inside air-handling systems. SVSi ProAV integrators have asked for the capability to easily integrate our Networked AV products into conference rooms, board rooms, and auditoriums; we are happy to have engineered this feature into the N-series product line.
