Swedish Physicist Nilsson & Radio Host Kleyne Seek Funding For More New Water Research To Cure Disease

We make our understanding of water more complicated than it needs to be. Water is the most primary focus of all life on earth.”
While Kleyne’s research has focused on medical applications of new water technologies, physicist Anders Nilsson, who calls two countries home—Sweden and the United States, has been studying the physical properties of water for the last twenty years. Nilsson, Professor of Chemical Physics at Stockholm University and a researcher at Stanford University, studies the fundamental properties and structure of liquid water and chemical energy transformations on surfaces that are, for instance, related to artificial photosynthesis. The author and co-author of more than 300 scientific papers published in journals such as Science and Nature, Nilsson was one of the scientists featured in the 2014 television production about the oceans, Through the Wormhole by Morgan Freeman. “Water is a unique liquid on earth,” says Nilsson. “No other liquid, especially when it is cooled down, acts like water. It’s almost as if water didn’t originate here on earth.”
Nilsson, who is also a spiritual teacher and author of the 2014 book, The Gentle Way of the Heart, which received a silver medal in the 2015 Benjamin Franklin Awards, sympathizes with Kleyne’s call for more funding to pay for new water research, which could lead to more cures of illness and disease. In fact, a lack of funding for new research led to Nilsson dividing his time between Stockholm, where research funding is more plentiful, and California. Nilsson hopes to see “awareness of water’s physical properties increase a hundredfold in our society.”
“Water uniquely listens. It’s alive,” adds Kleyne. “Inside water is a message of life.”
Nilsson and Kleyne agree that new water infrastructure is also essential to the wellbeing of the planet because we are in danger of losing the life-giving water on earth. Kleyne and Nilsson blame politicians for putting their own limited self-interest above education, research and infrastructure and both wish that they would learn the lessons of history. “Ancient civilizations like the Incas, like Rome,” says Nilsson, "built roads not so that people could get around, but so that they could get water to the cities and towns.”
