SwopBoard Announces the Creation of All-New Advisory Board; Seattle Startup Welcomes Business Leaders to Disrupt School Fundraising

(PRWEB) August 20, 2014 -- SwopBoard today announced the creation of its official advisory board composed of four distinguished professionals, Tamara Adlin, Nicholas Ferroni, Jens Molbak, and Valerie Wasserman, each from diverse disciplines. SwopBoard.com is an online marketplace to buy, sell, and give back to local schools, and these thought leaders represent the four primary pillars of SwopBoard’s business: technology, education, social entrepreneurship, and lifestyle brand development. Together, they will collaborate to serve SwopBoard’s mission of connecting communities to give back to U.S. schools.

Tamara Adlin
Startups are my first love and I’m still smitten. Adlin has more than 15 years of experience in customer-centered design, working with tech giants like Amazon, Apple, Zillow, and Microsoft, to emerging startups like Trover and Poppin. She is also a speaker and thought leader on personas for product design and co-authored best-selling “Persona Lifecycle” books in the user experience category in 2005 and 2010. She is currently the president of Adlin, Inc., a one-person customer experience strategy and design firm. Adlin was an integral part of SwopBoard’s complete UX makeover earlier this year.
Nicholas Ferroni
Meet the teacher hard at work revolutionizing American education. Ferroni is a nationally recognized educator in the New Jersey community, recently named one of the top 25 most influential educators on social media, with a well-trafficked Huffington Post blog to boot. Ferroni is committed to education reform and has received national attention for his unique and innovative methodology in successfully reaching contemporary and urban students.
Jens Molbak
Molbak launched Coinstar, Inc. in 1989 and, as CEO, took them public in 1997. Formerly a board member for ecoATM, providing an automated system for recycling consumer electronics, Molbak has an eye for green advancements. A long-time board member for the iconic Seattle Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass museum, Town Hall Seattle, and the New York-based start-up KeyMe, Molbak is also an active advisor for UW Bothell and a partner of Social Venture Partners Seattle, a philanthropic organization investing in collaborative solutions to help kids and protect the environment. Seattleites may recognize the name “Molbak” from the popular 10-acre nursery Molbak’s Garden + Home, the family business he took over in 2002.
Valerie Wasserman
A multi-disciplinary executive, Wasserman has over 20 years experience in senior level positions with major lifestyle media companies like Rodale Inc. and iVillage.com. Responsible for business development and strategic partnerships that drove brand awareness, new revenue streams, and incredible digital growth for Rodale’s collection of media properties (Prevention, Women’s Health and more), Wasserman also ran marketing and lead the successful product launch of iVillage.com, a media outlet targeted at women and moms.
