Swords to Plowshares Announces $200,000 to Support Job Training in Texas
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 18, 2014 -- Swords to Plowshares, San Francisco-based veterans rights organization announced today it is seeking proposals for a competitive re-grant program in Texas to help provide employment and job training services for veterans. The goals of the Texas Veterans Employment Collaborative are to help veterans prepare for, obtain and retain gainful employment in high wage, high growth industries in Texas and to increase veterans’ overall health, economic stability and ability to successfully transition to civilian life, by providing career advancement opportunities and integrated supportive services.
"We are thrilled to be able to expand our re-granting program to Texas, another state with high numbers of unemployed veterans. We look forward to sharing with our partners in Texas to advance our shared goal of supporting veterans through strong employment and training programs," said Amy N. The project is a pilot model based on Swords to Plowshares re-grant program in California which is in its second year. A total of $200,000 in grants will be awarded to at least three organizations. Grant awards will range from $20,000-$70,000. Swords to Plowshares will begin accepting requests for program support on March 18, 2014 with proposals due by May 1, 2014.
