Sydney Paige® Reaches out to the Pasadena Community, Donating Backpacks and School Supplies to Kids in Need through the Pasadena Human Services and Recreation Department
Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) August 04, 2015 -- Buy One | Give One business, Sydney Paige® Inc., is joining the City of Pasadena, donating backpacks filled with school supplies to kids in need at the 27th Annual Michael Bryant Haircut and Back to School event.
In mid-August, more than 300 children will gather at Robinson Park, where they will get themselves ready to go back to school. In addition to receiving a free haircut, the children will get a high quality, brightly colored backpack filled with quality school supplies, donated by Sydney Paige® Inc. “We are so excited to partner with the City of Pasadena,” says Courtney Brockmeyer, Founder & CEO of the Buy One | Give One backpack company, “and to give back to this wonderful community. It’s just not right that some kids return to school without a backpack and the basics, like pencils, crayons and paper.”
Sydney Paige® Inc. has also brought on board the Flintridge Bookstore and Coffeehouse to support this event. During the month of August, all Sydney Paige® purchases made at the La Cañada bookstore will lead to a matching backpack donation for kids in need in Pasadena. “We are so grateful to our Pasadena supporters, the team at Sydney Paige® and those at the Flintridge Bookstore and Coffeehouse for their generosity,” says Maricela Galvez, the City lead for this Back to School event.
Pasadena community members ranging from individuals to city officials, to a local print shop, have all joined the Sydney Paige® GIVING BACK TOGETHER Movement by purchasing backpacks to give these school-age children much needed items for school. Brockmeyer states, “The top reasons for kids dropping out of school are simply lack of confidence and the lack of tools to do their work. By providing underserved children with new, high quality backpacks and the supplies they need, we are providing them with a foundation to learn and thrive in school.”
There are expected to be about 500 people attending this Back to School community event.
