Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen Announces Upcoming Cooking Classes

Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 23, 2015 -- Sylvia Casares, owner and executive chef of Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen, is pleased to be offering new cooking classes over the next few months.

“For the past 12 years, the one thing I hear time after time from my students,” said Casares, “is that they had fun in the class, and can’t wait to cook what they learned for their friends and family.”

The classes will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturdays at Sylvia’s, 1140 Eldridge Parkway. Each class includes a full meal featuring the foods cooked in the class, as well as Sylvia’s famous cheese enchiladas, dessert, and a signature margarita or other beverage, served after the class.

March 7 – Chiles Rellenos – Beef and Cheese Rellenos. (This is a hands-on class and guaranteed fun with learning!)

March 21 – Tex-Mex Sweets & Desserts – Capirotada, Chocolate Bread Pudding, Flan, Sopapillas and Polvorones.

April 11 – Meatless Enchiladas – Enchiladas Rojas, Enchiladas Enfrijoladas, Spinach Enchiladas, Rice and Quick Refried Black Beans.

April 18 – Mexican Breakfast – Huevos Rancheros, Flour tortillas, Corn Tortillas, Gorditas, Chilaquiles, and Refried Beans. This is a hands-on class for tortilla making!

May 2 – Grilling beef fajitas, flour tortillas, corn tortillas, salsa and rice and agua fresca. $65

May 16 – Mexican Sweets – Empanadas de Calabaza, Capirotada, Polvorones, Sopappillas, Mexican Hot Chocolate and Café de Olla.
