Symmetry Electronics Announces the Winners of the We Know RFduino Video Contest
Hawthorne, CA (PRWEB) October 06, 2014 -- Symmetry Electronics, SemiconductorStore.com and RFduino are pleased to announce the winners of the We Know RFduino Video Contest.
After a month of grueling competition, our three winning video submissions have been determined. These three videos received the most views during the contest period (from September 1, 2014 through September 30, 2014). The 1st place video will receive a $1,000 American Express Gift Card and a goodie bag. 2nd place will receive a $500 American Express Gift Card and a goodie bag. 3rd place will receive a $250 American Express Gift Card and a goodie bag.

1st Prize: Intemed Smartphone Pill Delivery System

The Intemed smartphone pill delivery system integrates the RFduino servo shield with a cartridge system built into a smartphone backup battery case. The cartridges work with a smartphone app to enable communication between patient, doctor, and pharmacist and ensure timely reminders and delivery of medications.
2nd Prize: Hi!-keys

Hi!-keys is a wireless wearable text input device system that leverages Text to Speech (TTS) functionality using RFduino’s processing power. The system consists of three components communicating over a wireless network: the Hi!-keys text input card, a Dict-server, and a TTS-server. Each is controlled by an RFduino processor.
3rd Prize: Gas Sensor

This gas sensor can detect potentially explosive gases such as methane, propane, and butane. A small microcontroller measures the gas sample and calculates the percentage of the lower explosive limit to determine if the sample contains enough explosive gas to ignite. The RFduino is used to send the percentage value result to nearby devices via a Bluetooth Low Energy connection.
