SynQor Introduces Its 5 Watt Hi-Rel Isolated/Regulated DC-DC Converter for Critical Military Applications in a Compact Package
Boxborough, MA (PRWEB) January 26, 2015 -- SynQor announces the release of the MQSA-28-05S, the first to come in a new series of low-power, Hi-Rel converters. This 5W DC-DC converter is housed in a new compact package that is only 1.075" x 1.075" x 0.27". Developed specifically for the Military/Aerospace industry to ensure survivability in the most hostile environments, the MQSA-28-05S uses SynQor's innovative QorSeal™ packaging technology, which includes tin whisker mitigation.
The MQSA-28-05S accepts a continuous input voltage of 16-40V, and it is capable of handling a transient input voltage of 50V for 1 second. This over-voltage transient complies with MIL-STD-704F, RTCA/DO-160G Cat A/R, MIL-STD-1275D (Gen+Bat), and DEF-STAN 61-5 (Part 6)/5 (Gen+Bat) limitations.
The MQSA-28-05S converter operates from -55°C to 125°C baseplate temperature and provides up to 5W of power at a typical 80% efficiency throughout the temperature profile. It has an input-side referenced enable, an output over-voltage protection, a continuous short circuit and overload protection, as well as input under-voltage shutdown. There are no opto-isolators in the converter.
Designed for reliability per NAVSO-P3641-A guidelines with components derated per MIL-HDBK-1547A and NAVSO-P3641-A, and qualified per MIL-STD-810F- consistent with RTCA/D0-160E, SynQor's First Article Qualification-consistent with MIL-STD-883F, SynQor's Long-Term Storage Survivability Qualification, and SynQor's on-going life tests, these converters are an exceptional choice for low power High Reliability needs. Three separate screening levels are made available for your increasing level of mission critical requirements.
The MQSA-28-05S is a more reliable and cost effective solution than existing hermetic hybrid chip-and-wire converters.
Sample and production quantities are available with a standard lead-time of 14 weeks ARO. For access to the datasheet please click here. For additional power application assistance please explore more at http://www.synqor.com or contact your local SynQor representative.
