Taggler and Junior Achievement of Southern California Raise Funds for Young Entrepreneurs
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- Taggler has partnered with Junior Achievement of Southern California (JASoCal) to raise money for educational programs for young entrepreneurs, in honor of National Entrepreneurship Month. The partnership is the inaugural campaign for “Taggler Cares,” the charitable program started by Taggler to help nonprofits fundraise with shirt sales. Through “Taggler Cares,” supporters can buy a custom designed shirt from the Taggler website with all proceeds going to JASoCal. The campaign will run from National Entrepreneurs’ Day (November 18) till Giving Tuesday (December 2).

This campaign will unlock the dreams of entrepreneurship for thousands of JA students in our community,” said Brian K. Junior Achievement of Southern California is a nonprofit that empowers the youth through financial literacy and entrepreneurship. For the 2014-2015 school year, they will have served more than 100,000 students from grades K-12 in the southern California area. Their programs include the JA Company Program, in which students learn the basics of running a business through key concepts of company structure, product marketing, financial analysis and sales with an entrepreneurial base; and the JA Be Entrepreneurial program that focuses primarily on the generation of a business concept or product idea based on principles of community need, demographic, social responsibility, business plan creation, and marketing. For every three shirts sold, a student will be able to partake in one of these programs.
Taggler’s partnership with JASoCal was a natural fit. Taggler co-founder Josh Wei was involved in the JA Be Entrepreneurial program in high school, and used the skills he learned there to start Taggler.
“Junior Achievement taught me the importance of the free enterprise system, namely transparent marketplaces and I think I've taken that to Taggler,” said Wei. “We saw that with custom apparel it was hard for customers to find out what is a fair price, so we set out to create an open marketplace for custom apparel.”
With Taggler, rather than having to call around to several local printers comparing prices and quality, customers go on Taggler, post their order, and receive multiple quotes from printers who have been pre-approved. The customer is able to compare multiple quotes at once, and select the right printer for their order based on ratings, reviews, past jobs, and price. The printer fills out Taggler's order summary form, and the customer pays through Taggler’s secure payment-processing system, with Taggler taking a percentage of the sale.
"T-shirts have always been a great tool for nonprofits, so we wanted to do our part to help raise funds and awareness for important causes and campaigns,” said Jason Wei, co-founder of Taggler. “Partnering with Junior Achievement of Southern California to support National Entrepreneurship Month is a great way to kick off the first Taggler Cares campaign."
With the campaign, Taggler hopes to sell 200 shirts for the nonprofit and young entrepreneurs.
