Taiwan Tourism Bureau to Promote Green Tourism Sponsoring the Oakland Zoo 23rd Annual Walk in the Wild: An Epicurean Escape

The Bureau's Oh!Bear mascot aka Moon bear, will be there to greet and take pictures with guests. There will also be sweet treats of Taiwan specialties, bubble milk tea and pineapple pastry tasting at booth for visitors.
According to Ms. Sylvia Yu, Director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau in San Francisco, 2014 was a great year for Taiwan Tourism. “We’ve reached a record-high with 24% growth from previous year and a total tourist entries' of 9,910,204 last year. As for 2015 and on, the Bureau is promoting its four-year 'Taiwan Tourism Action Plan', which focuses on premium quality, localized specialties, intelligence, and sustainable tourism as its implementation strategies. The goal is to promote Taiwan's versatility as a destination where travelers can fully explore the island and visit throughout any season. It showcases Taiwan's diverse aboriginal cultures, promotes the accessibility of the nature, and creates a green and sustainable environment. It will further transform Taiwan into a top-notch tourism destination. This year is the first time for the Bureau to set up a Taiwan booth at Oakland Zoo promoting Green tourism. Not only will it greatly increase the awareness of Taiwan in the general market, but also fulfills Taiwan's responsibility as a member of international tourism.
