Talent Development Ministry Silences Skepticism with Pay What You Pray
Atlanta, GA. (PRWEB) March 18, 2015 -- After 34 years in entertainment, Actors, Models and Talent for Christ today announced its innovative new payment philosophy: ‘Pay What You Pray.’
“By placing the financial viability of this ministry more fully in God’s Hands, we hope to enable a greater number of His stars to rise,” says AMTC founder Carey Lewis. “Media is now the world’s most effective pulpit. God’s performers must be seen on every screen.”
‘Pay What You Pray’ is not logical. Instead, it’s revolutionary--making AMTC’s services, the Bridge Training Program and SHINE Conference, available to all who are “called, chosen and faithful” – even those who cannot pay AMTC’s operating cost per performer. Entrance into the entertainment industry can be confusing and challenging. Industry education, photo shoots, marketing, style training, and exposure are needs of aspiring talent hoping for a “ticket in.” This is what AMTC offers–the tools, knowledge and connections to see if each performer has a place and future in the industry.
AMTC’s mission statement asserts: “We find, prepare and launch performers into the world’s most influential mission field: entertainment. Our faith-based education, international conference and focus on fellowship set the stage for God’s stars to shine as reflections of His Truth. A force for good is rising in media. Actors, models and talent for Christ are destined to lead it.”
AMTC is stepping out in faith with this new ‘Pay What You Pray’ open-door policy for tuition. No performer who is called and qualified will be denied. If a performer auditions to join the program and receives a callback, AMTC advises prayer: to confirm God’s call. The non-profit ministry will consider all prayerful pledges.

About AMTC:
AMTC is a three-generation family business started in 1982 by industry icon Millie Lewis and her daughter Carey Lewis. They decided to host a talent convention for their top performers. Their first convention was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Charleston, SC, in 1982.
The company’s growing success ultimately became hollow for its founder, Carey Lewis. Personal challenges and professional betrayals brought her to her knees. In this desert, the true shaping of AMTC began. Carey, who at the age of 51 saw herself as a burned-out CEO, gave her life and her company to God.
She became a committed Christian, and AMTC’s mission changed. Within two years of her transformation, both her daughters and son-in-law, Adam She (now AMTC’s Executive Director) became Christians.
In 2012, Carey and her family gave up ownership of AMTC. Actors, Models & Talent for Christ is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the purpose of “Making Good Bolder” in film, fashion, music and theater. Pay What You Pray is another step in trying to do God’s Will, helping performers.
