TalkLocal's Newly Launched iPhone, Android App Like a “Silent Siri” for Local Services
(PRWEB) February 27, 2015 -- Local services marketplace TalkLocal launched an iPhone and Android app. Recently demoed at The International Consumer Elecrtonics Show (CES) and available for free download at Apple and Google Play stores, it takes only about 90 seconds for the app to rank local pros and connect consumers by phone to the top pros available.
In an impromptu beta test, the app got TalkLocal founder Gurpreet Singh 3 estimates in 12 minutes, an electrician on site in 30. He used Talklocal right after dialing 911 when he awoke to a kitchen fire.
“Launching a mobile app is a logical next step for us. Most of the conversations that happen between our users are via their mobile phones,” said TalkLocal Chief of Products Amandeep Bakshi, citing a recent Google study in which 88% of consumers were found to search local stores via their mobile phones.
Now, TalkLocal mobile app users can enter their contact information, describe their needs, and hear from up to 3 matching professionals by phone in about 90 seconds. Saving consumers from hassles like having to call around or play phone tag, TalkLocal is at least 50x faster at getting the right live pro than alternatives like Siri. The service also keeps consumers’ personal contact information private by connecting them to pros using Voice over IP rather than their direct phone lines.
TalkLocal matches consumers to businesses based on location, schedule, online ratings and reviews, social reputation and interaction, call analytics, and other forms of feedback. Then it connects matching businesses and consumers by phone.
The app also sports a number of useful new features and capabilities, making it a “Silent Siri for local services”.
- Features a GPS Locator for searching nearby
- Saves and automatically re-enters contact information for repeat use
- Offers optional entry of voice recorded service request details
- Provides lead previews to matching business in the consumer’s voice
“We worked extra hard to eliminate those seemingly tiny inconveniences that pop up in local search, like typing on your thumbs or not knowing the zip code of your current location,” Head of Products Aman Bakshi explained.
Launching in late 2012 and raising $4m in funding to date, TalkLocal has sent over one-million phone calls to local businesses, connecting consumers and businesses in 46 categories including auto-repair, HVAC, plumbing, and dentistry. With offices in DC, San Francisco, and now College Park Maryland, the startup has launched in over 50 major cities and served businesses and consumers in 49 states.
