Tapella & Eberspacher, LLC Business Manager Rick Hall Serves as VIP Host for the Area 9 Special Olympics Games
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) May 14, 2015 -- Tapella & Eberspacher, LLC is proud to announce that the personal injury law firm’s business manager, Rick Hall, was the VIP host for the Area 9 Special Olympics. The games were held on O’Brien Field at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL on May 1, 2015.
“This is the second year I’ve hosted VIP guests at the Area 9 Special Olympics,” Hall explained. “They invited me to host because I've been involved in the community by serving on the City Council, the United Way, Rotary Club,the Mattoon School board and other similar organizations. Because of these activities I know many of the VIP guests."
Hall has been involved with Special Olympians for over 25 years by serving on the Special Olympics Family Festival. Many of the VIP guests volunteer to perform certain jobs such as helping to kick off the ceremonies, assisting with events and making announcements.
Hall’s duties as host included meeting and greeting the VIP guests, thanking participants for coming, answering any questions they may have about the event, and offering refreshments.
Nearly 1,000 Olympians came to compete in the event, which saw a better turnout than was expected. Winners in the event moved on to the state level to continue competing, and some of them may move on to the national level.
Area 9 was founded in Illinois in 1979 and serves people in Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland and Shelby counties by providing them with programming.
“I was happy to be selected as the VIP host for the Area 9 Special Olympics for the second year, and it’s a great opportunity for our firm to be involved in community events and represent the firm,” added Hall. “I plan to continue to be involved in Special Olympics events and look forward to next year’s games.”
