Tariq Drabu Urges Families to Continue Paying Attention to Their Children’s Oral Health
(PRWEB) December 28, 2013 -- Tariq Drabu has been urging his patients who have young families, to continue paying pay close attention to the oral health of their children. Dr Tariq Drabu is a Dentist and owner of the renowned Langley Dental Practice in Middleton, Manchester. In addition, he has been a teacher and mentor of postgraduate students of dentistry for over a decade.
Tariq Drabu believes that educating children on the benefits of regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene will prevent them from developing serious dental problems in later life. In addition it could also have a great effect on reducing instances of mouth cancers in the future. He is dedicated to helping all the families who attend his dental surgery, to practice good oral health throughout their lives. He said statistics already indicate that oral health in young children is steadily improving.
Tariq Drabu was speaking in reference to an article recently published by Denistry Today. The article discusses a comprehensive study recently undertaken which shows a marked improvement in child oral health. The article can be read here.
Tariq Drabu said, “Having spoken to all my patients who are parents, I believe that we are making great progress in our campaign to improve the dental health of our children. The education system is helping too, with children being taught about brushing their teeth from a very early age. My colleagues and I believe we will see the benefits of this early health education in the coming decades.”
The study showed that almost 72% of parents who took part in the study said their children were in excellent oral health. This figure has risen from 67% in 2003. Tariq Drabu believes education is the key to good health. He has been dedicated to encouraging as many people as possible to enjoy good oral health for many decades, from his practice in Manchester, and as Clinical Lead Dentist for the Oral Surgery Clinical Assessment and Treatment Services at NHS Heywood, in Middleton and Rochdale.
He is also a mentor and teacher to young upcoming dentists studying for their postgraduate degrees. In addition to educating his own patients, he wants to teach new dentists to have the same passion and commitment to their future patients too. As a renowned teacher of dental medicine, and a true advocate of good oral health, he is able to use his knowledge, experience and influence to spread the word to many people.
Referring to the article Tariq Drabu said, “By educating our young children, we are helping them have strong teeth and live a much healthier life as adults. It is one simple way we can all do something positive to help the next generation. And it will also help dental health services in the future, saving money and precious resources. Those resources can then be targeted at the areas of highest need, because there are still many areas particularly in our inner cities which still have very poor oral health.”
He closed by saying, “It is encouraging to see the results of the study. It shows that in the last decade, the sterling work undertaken to educate young children and families about good oral health, has had a positive and lasting effect.”
