Tasktop’s Latest Versions of Sync and Data Expand Its Software Lifecycle Integration Ecosystem, Significantly Enhance User Experience
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- Tasktop, the leader in Software Lifecycle Integration (SLI) and creator of the Eclipse Mylyn open source tool, today announced the latest versions of its Tasktop Sync and Tasktop Data products, which add strategic new tools to its integration network and provide a vastly superior user experience.
Tasktop products enable enterprises to achieve major gains by connecting everyone in the software lifecycle to create one efficient development and delivery team. With Tasktop solutions, everyone can use their various tools of choice and still collaborate in real time as if they were all working on a single platform.
Tasktop Sync
Sync is an integration server that provides fully automated, enterprise-grade synchronization among the artifacts created and managed within disparate tools used in software development and delivery organizations. Sync works in the background, keeping the flow of information among the practitioners and their tools constant.
NEW for Sync
The latest version further enhances its market-leading Artifact Relationship Management (ARM) capabilities. Tasktop Sync not only mirrors artifacts in other systems, but also mirrors related artifacts and the relationships among them. In some cases, related artifacts can’t be mirrored because the second system has no facility to manage that type of artifact. Now, users of that second system will be able to see the original artifact in a “rich hover” dialog box without leaving their tool. To do this, Tasktop leverages the OSLC (Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration) standard so that all OSLC-compliant products can display this rich hover; even non-OSLC compliant tools can provide the data for rich hover.
This release also adds iRise, Blueprint, HP PPM and CA Harvest to the Tasktop Sync Integration Network. The addition of iRise and Blueprint supplements existing support for a wide range of requirements management and elicitation products, including DOORS, DOORS NG, IBM Requisite Pro, Jama, Polarion and Serena Dimensions RM.
According to Dave West, chief product officer, Tasktop, “Interest in requirements is on the upswing in part because of scaled agile approaches such as SAFe and DAD that encourage more traditional requirements methods. Support for iRise is in part driven by the need to extend and improve requirements practices with the addition of high-fidelity prototyping and requirements visualization. Meanwhile, Tasktop’s support for Blueprint means that it now supports the large majority of requirements management tools, which is important for many organizations seeking to scale their agile implementations.”
Tasktop Data
Data offers new insights into the software delivery process by unlocking software lifecycle data from its application tool silos. It leverages Tasktop’s unique knowledge of software development and delivery – and all the tools that support each process – to provide a rich data repository for near real-time analytics.
New for Data
The latest version of Data offers a significantly enhanced user experience, which raises the abstraction for integration and data streaming, enabling a broader set of people with even less tool knowledge to create a data warehouse of software lifecycle data. It also provides additional systems support, such as for Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio Online, VersionOne, RTC, Bluemix, Blueprint, iRise, HP PPM, ClearQuest and CA PPM.
According to West, “The next-generation user experience we provide in this release is a step toward our vision of providing the market’s first true integration platform as a service provider (IPaaS). This is accomplished by providing domain knowledge in the tool and allowing administrators to connect systems without having expert knowledge or programming experience. We are very excited about this new user experience for ‘citizen integrators’ and what it means to the industry and integrations market.”
