TAWANI Enterprise’s Stone Terrace Bed and Breakfast and Stone Porch by the Lake Took Official Sponsorship Role in North Shore Century Summer Ride
EVANSTON, IL (PRWEB) September 26, 2017 -- An avid supporter of Evanston events and activities, Evanston's only bed and breakfasts Stone Terrace Bed & Breakfast, located at 1622 Forest Place, and Stone Porch by the Lake, located at 300 Church Street, has contributed to becoming a major sponsor of the North Shore Century bike rides. The North Shore Century bike ride took place Sunday, Sept. 17 at 6 a.m. at Dawes Park, near the Arrington Lakefront Lagoon at Church Street and Sheridan Road.
"We were pleased that once again Stone Terrace and Stone Porch were continuing the long legacy of civic participation in Evanston by sponsoring the annual North Shore Century, one of Chicagoland's premiere invitational rides," said Suzie LaBelle, chairman of the North Shore Century and a member of the Evanston Bike Club. "We are deeply appreciative of their generosity, which reinforced the strong mutual commitment we've all made to community involvement in Evanston."
Stone Terrace and Stone Porch, are part of the Stone Heritage Properties brand, a luxury collection of historic Bed & Breakfast properties and unique event spaces organized under TAWANI Enterprises, Inc. Former Evanston resident, retired Lt. Col. Jennifer Pritzker, is president and CEO of TAWANI Enterprises.
Pritzker, who still owns several properties in Evanston and is the co-owner of the two bed and breakfasts, has donated more than $2.5 million in cash personally and on behalf of the TAWANI Foundation to the Evanston community. The TAWANI Foundation is TAWANI Enterprises, Inc. philanthropic arm, where Pritzker is CEO and president. The bed and breakfasts have also sponsored multiple community events.
This year's North Shore Century bike ride marked the 33rd year of the ride and covered up to 100 miles of beautiful neighborhoods, architectural treasures, tree-lined streets, offering refreshing breezes of Lake Michigan. The Evanston Bicycle Club donates up to 90 percent of its proceeds from the North Shore Century to local, state, national and international bicycle related charities. Many are engaged in helping disadvantaged young people use bicycling to pursue their education, gain a marketable skill or improve their health.

Stone Terrace was built in 1883 and restored to its original design and grandeur in 1910. The Tudor-style house features a living room, an adjoining sunroom, a formal dining room, a morning room and a magnificent outdoor terrace. A grand library is featured on the mezzanine level. The second floor features a guest center, guest laundry and five guest rooms, each named after prominent women in history. The lower level includes a media theatre, billiard room, exercise room, Zen massage room and a place for personal training and private yoga sessions.
Stone Porch by the Lake is a historic Tudor mansion built in 1889 that has been meticulously restored and updated with impressive modern amenities. The magnificent property offers five suites with private bathrooms, plus a guest office. The first floor features a guest kitchen, formal dining room and large, roomy living room with lots of sitting areas to read, relax and have conversations. The breakfast room overlooks a large Bluestone patio and 15-foot stone fireplace.
