Taylor Morrison and KEZ 99.9 Announce the First Two Recipients of KEZ’s “Excellence in Education” Award
Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) October 30, 2014 -- Valley homebuilder Taylor Morrison is once again partnering with Phoenix radio station KEZ 99.9 to shine a spotlight on the area’s unsung heroes of education with the monthly “Excellence in Education” award.
Matthew Gilbert of Verrado High School in Buckeye and Heather Rankin of Countryside Elementary School in Surprise are the first two winners for the new Arizona school year. Each teacher received an “Excellence in Education” plaque, a $99 award and prizes for their achievements in the classroom.
“There’s perhaps no more important job than educating our children,” said Todd Hahn, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison’s Arizona division. “At Taylor Morrison, we value the jobs these unsung heroes are doing everyday. This award is one way we can show them how much they truly mean to us.”
In September, Gilbert was recognized for his kindness and dedication as a teacher who knows and truly cares about his students’ success. His work to help a high school student graduate on time resulted in inspiring the student meet his goal of graduating with his classmates.
Rankin was chosen in October for her above-and-beyond attitude, along with her commitment to preparing a student for the life ahead. Rankin attends every fundraiser for the school, supports and cheers on her students in all of their endeavors and sets high expectations for her students, teaching them to be model citizens.
“She truly cares and prepares her students to be successful in life,” said the parents of nominating student Anthony Villari. “She keeps parents informed on what’s going on in class or if there are any concerns. Mrs. Rankin is No. 1.”
