TEA Approves Sapling Learning for Proclamation 2014
(PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- Austin-based Sapling Learning is pleased to announce that its entire Texas High School Suite of Science products has been approved by the TEA to meet 100% of the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) and ELPS (English Language Proficiency Standards). These programs include Dynamic Biology, Dynamic Chemistry, and Dynamic Physics.
The cornerstone of Sapling’s Dynamic Science series is an enhanced HTML5 eBook with embedded video and interactive content including virtual labs, animations, and narrated Power Lessons with closed captioning, all compatible with the iPad. The Dynamic Science series also features downloadable PowerPoints and study sheets, pre-assessments by reporting category, skill building activities with real-time coaching and feedback, full-length practice exams, automatic grading and comprehensive reporting by TEKS. Sapling’s growing list of customers expands to over 250 school districts with 1 in 4 Texas school districts using Sapling Learning as part of their curriculum.
A committee of teachers and state science community leaders came together this summer to review instructional materials for TEA's Proclamation 2014 Textbook Adoption. The committee has concluded reviews of Sapling Learning's alignment to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, awarding Sapling a rating of 100% alignment across all subjects.

Instructional materials adopted under this proclamation are scheduled to be implemented beginning in the 2014–2015 school year. Adopted materials are eligible for purchase with funds from the Instructional Materials Allotment, and will be ordered by school districts and open-enrollment charter schools through the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Educational Materials (EMAT) system.
