Team Florida Announces 2017 Indoor HP All-Star Coaches
Eustis, FL (PRWEB) December 04, 2016 -- The Florida Region of USA Volleyball is proud to announce the 2017 HP All-Star coaching roster! The Team Florida Indoor HP All-Star program allows elite youth and junior volleyball athletes to play for college coaches and represent the Florida Region at an international volleyball tournament each year called the USA High Performance Championships.
The 2017 championship tournament will be held July 18th – 22nd in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The Florida Region will send 4 girls’ teams and 2 boys’ teams to represent Florida. Below are the teams and their coaches for 2017:
GIRLS INTERNATIONAL YOUTH (GIY)

1st Assistant – Travers Green (University of South Florida)
2nd Assistant - Tony Cothron (Manatee Area Volleyball Club)
GIRLS NATIONAL YOUTH (GNY)
Head Coach – Adis Imamovic (Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association)
1st Assistant – Jonathan Wong (Bradley University)
2nd Assistant – Corey Sarubbi (Wildfire Volleyball Academy/ Lynn University)
GIRLS NATIONAL SELECT (GNS)
Head Coach – Flavia Siqueira (College of Central Florida)
1st Assistant – Giovanny Delevry (Florida Institute of Technology)
2nd Assistant – Diego Perez-Gaitan (Cape Coast Volleyball Club)
GIRLS FUTURE SELECT (GFS)
Head Coach – Brian Goodhind (Webber International University)
1st Assistant – Ore Pablos (Wildfire Volleyball Academy/ Lynn University)
2nd Assistant – Nicole Russell (Palm Beach Juniors)
BOYS NATIONAL YOUTH (BNY)
Head Coach – Dexter Rogers (OTVA Volleyball Academy)
1st Assistant – Israel Delgado (Santa Fe College)
2nd Assistant – Corey Marks (MVP Academy)
BOYS REGIONAL YOUTH (BRY)
Head Coach – Rob Holley (Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association)
1st Assistant – Tom Snodgrass (Orlando Gold)
2nd Assistant – Ashley Schinzing (Orlando Gold)
In 2016, gold medals were won by Women International Juniors (ages 17-19) led by head coach Adis Imamovic; Girls’ International Youth (ages 15 & 16) led by head coach Julie Darty; and Girls’ National Select Red (ages 14 and under) led by head coach Flavia Siqueira. The Boys’ National Youth team (ages 16 & 17) led by head coach Steve Benson won the silver medal and Boys’ National Select team (ages 15 and under) led by head coach Rob Holley won bronze.
Steve Bishop, Executive Director of the Florida Region of USA Volleyball, said, “This is another great lineup of coaches for our 2017 Team Florida Indoor HP All-Star program. With over 45 coaches applying for 18 positions, the committee was challenged with tough decisions and much deliberation went into the selection process. This year we will have coaches from nine different colleges on staff. We look forward to co-hosting the event in Ft. Lauderdale again and welcoming the world’s best junior volleyball teams to Florida!”
Team Florida is also excited to announce that the teams will be sponsored and outfitted by ASICS and 1st Place Volleyball, making this the 12th year in a row.
The High Performance Championship runs under FIVB (Federation Internationale de Volleyball) protocols which governs and manages all forms of volleyball across the globe. The FIVB promotes competitions and satisfies sponsors’ needs. It aims to develop Volleyball as a major world media and entertainment sport, while giving athletes the exposure they need to further their careers in volleyball.
