Team Kearney and CRGT Win HHS BPA to Support Financial Modernization
Reston, VA (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Finance awarded a five-year, multiple-award Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to the team of Kearney & Company (Kearney) and CRGT for Financial Policy and Reporting Services. The services covered by this BPA are integral components of HHS’s broader initiative to improve the HHS’s systems for accounting, financial management, and internal controls, with an inclusive goal to standardize transactional processes across all the operating divisions’ financial systems. HHS’s obligations to Congress are accentuated by the Recovery Act and other legislation that require in-depth financial tracking and compliance above and beyond normal HHS guidelines.
HHS has three primary financial systems managing an annual budget exceeding $900 billion, supporting more than 300 programs. These systems are the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Business System (NBS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS), and the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS) that supports the remaining HHS operating divisions. This BPA addresses HHS’ strategic goal of achieving greater consolidation and standardization for these systems with the overarching goal of achieving improvement in the areas of financial data quality and system efficiency.
CRGT will work with Kearney as subject matter experts to respond to HHS BPA tasks with comprehensive solutions that require integrated IT and financial domains. CRGT will lead IT-related technical support tasks and support financial system integrity and process improvement through use of Oracle’s Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite of products including Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
This award, with a ceiling value of $50 million, is part of CRGT’s strategic partnership with Kearney & Company to expand CRGT’s healthcare market-related IT expertise of Data Analytics and Infrastructure Optimization services into the Health Financial Systems arena.
“HHS has a massive and vital mission of helping Americans live healthy lives,” said CRGT President Tom Ferrando. “We are proud to have a part in helping HHS improve its services and make lives better.”
This BPA will facilitate faster response to HHS’s Operations and Chief Financial Officer’s work requirements such as consolidated financial reporting and audits, internal controls and program integrity, accountability report, financial management policy, budget execution support, Hyperion infrastructure support, CFRS reporting tasks and Operations and Maintenance, Hyperion transition strategy enhancements and strategic planning.
