Tech Analyst Jeff Kagan Comments on AirWatch Article in Fierce Mobile IT
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 28, 2013 -- Smartphones and tablets have created new security threats, which threatens to overwhelm IT departments. Firms like AirWatch help to guard against security threats, according to and interview with CEO John Marshall of AirWatch in Fierce Mobile IT, July 22.
Principal analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
AirWatch was founded in 2003 by John Marshall and Alan Dabbiere. They have more than 7,000 enterprise customers around the world.
“Enterprise mobility management has moved beyond simple device management. Today it includes things like mobile application, content management and security protection,” says Wireless analyst Jeff Kagan.
CEO John Marshall sees the mobile device management or the MDM market consolidating into a few leading vendors in the next few years. He says BYOD is having an explosive impact on demand for MDM.
“This new smartphone and tablet market is still in the earliest stages of development. That means management and protection are also in the earliest stages as well. This area will become more crowded in the next few years as the opportunity and the threat grows. Who will lead is still the question, but either way there will be a growing among of business,” says Kagan.
