Tech Solutions Company nCap Technologies (nCap) Partners with Space AI to Bring Robotics Into the Home ... and Far Beyond
Heber City, UTAH (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- Space AI’s operating system and hardware make it possible for anyone to build unmanned ground, aerial, and even space vehicles as well as the applications that run on them. The Space AI network consists of the Mission Control Computer (MCC), the Space AI Node, and the Space Operating System (SOS). The MCC is a low-cost, space-ready, 1TFLOP (one trillion operations a second) 256-core supercomputer tailored for installation in any robot or unmanned vehicle. The Space AI Node is a ground terminal and nCap antennas connected to a software-defined radio -- this allows users to tune in and obtain open data from satellites connected to the Space Operating System (SOS). Through the SOS network Space AI Nodes connect to MCC-installed robots and other devices -- this allows for the remote management of the robots’ sensors and actuators from anywhere on Earth or in space.
nCap’s lightweight Nano-capacitor antenna materials provide enhanced communication capabilities with up to five times the range of traditional antennas, increased data exchange with lower bit error rates, higher fidelity, and reduced packet loss and retry requests. nCap’s Nano-sized capacitors minimize power usage while exponentially increasing the reception and transmission capabilities of all of Space AI’s products, from consumer products to satellites. Specifically, the Space AI Node now has the capability of Wide Band Transmission and Reception across tens of GHz with one small antenna. The antenna allows decreasing power usage by up to 300%. Providing maximum range and data speeds for clear, reliable communication throughout the Space AI network.
nCap Technologies is the developer of a proprietary Nano-capacitive antenna technology that replaces or enhances traditional inductive antennas in a diverse array of applications.
nCap’s technology was recognized as a radical moonshot at Google’s inaugural Solve for X event in February 2012. Unlike traditional antennas, which are limited by size, weight, power requirements, and emissions, antenna applications using nCap technology are flat, lightweight, energy efficient, and emit little to no heat. Independent field-testing has shown that nCap antennas had improved data collection and transmission capability with lower power requirements compared to standard antennas. In addition, enhancing off-the-shelf antennas with nCap technology led to improved signal strength, data speed, and battery life in consumer devices such as smartphones and tablets.
