Technology in Business: Futurist Jack Uldrich says Foresight is 20/20
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) April 23, 2015 -- Author and Global Futurist Jack Uldrich says, ”By it's very nature future-proofing can be risky. It means questioning how things are done, and that can be an uncomfortable experience. What will serve organizations going forward is a policy of conducting small experiments and pilot projects. And while that may be discomfiting to some it also can be downright exciting and lead to the next big thing.”
From healthcare, to education, and manufacturing to utilities, Jack Uldrich speaks to organizations far and wide about technology in business, future trends, unlearning and future-proofing. This month alone Uldrich addressed nine organizations including BCBS, Foth, NAHAD and Stiles.
On Monday, April 27th Uldrich will conclude his April speaking engagements with a keynote, “Foresight is 20/20” delivered to the 124th International Association of Refrigeration Warehouses Convention and Expo in Orlando, FL.
“In an ever changing world strategic planning is less and less helpful. What needs to replace strategic planning is a thoughtful policy of experimentation.”
Uldrich encourages his audiences to be bold. In each of his keynotes he says, “Try new things, play with emerging technologies, and partner with different individuals and companies to exploit new technologies and explore new ways of doing business.”
When it comes to one of his specialties, unlearning, Uldrich says, "The concept of unlearning might seem pointless to some people. So, too, might the idea of doing something that makes you uncomfortable. The surprising thing is this: If you do something out of your comfort zone, it actually widens your circle of comfort."
With all his forward and paradoxical thinking, Uldrich is also a pragmatist, “There will, of course, be some setbacks and failures but there may also be some surprising successes. Teaching organizations and individuals to learn from the mistakes and build upon the small successes, they may just discover their futures to be unusually successful.”
