Teenshop Inc., Hosting Exceptional Summer Camp for Junior High School Girls, Is Now Accepting Applications Nationwide
(PRWEB) February 27, 2015 -- Teenshop Inc. is hosting an exclusive residential summer camp program for college-bound rising seniors who want to strengthen their college applications, learn career-building strategies and make new friends with like-minded girls in an exceptional environment, and it is now accepting applications to receive students nationwide.
The Residential College Prep Summer Program, which was created and is hosted by Teenshop, Inc., – an award-winning, Philadelphia-based nonprofit for girls with goals – is being held at Bryn Mawr College for two weeks from July 12th through the 25th.
Now in its eighth year, the program was made available only to girls who were members of Teenshop that has chapters in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and South Jersey. Last year Teenshop extended the program to girls regardless of their affiliation due to the demand for experiences like this, according to Teenshop Founder and President, Elleanor Jean Hendley. “We have been very fortunate to offer dozens of girls with exposure to some of the most accomplished female professionals in their respective fields in this intensive setting on the campus of Bryn Mawr,” Hendley said. “Because the challenges facing women in their career pursuits continue to grow, we thought it most appropriate to broaden the access to this program.”
The program combines elements of leadership, mentorship and scholarship to provide the participants with various exposure opportunities including methods for improving SAT scores, tips for strengthening college application essays, money management skills, public speaking training and career-building strategies.
The tuition for the program is $1,995 per student that includes all expenses for the two-week experience with the application deadline set for April 30th. Information and applications are available online at http://www.Teenshop.org or via e-mail at Teenshop1985(at)gmail(dot)com or by phone at 215.851.1842.
A full scholarship to the program will be offered to one girl who demonstrates financial need and submits a 500-word essay on “Why Going to College Matters.”
