Tekne Awards Finalist Named for Innovative IT Safety and Security
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 22, 2013 -- The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named MPC as a finalist in the Safety and Security category for the 14th annual Tekne Awards. Every year, the awards honor leading Minnesota companies and individuals for innovations in technology.
The IT asset recovery and disposition firm was selected for their recent launch of risk mitigation services for end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-current-use (EOCU) IT hardware and equipment. By investing in security technology and certifications, MPC's new full service platform focuses on assessing the current risk of an organization, developing a complete solution, and implementing an entire IT asset disposition program. By using one unified source for these services, companies reduce the points of vulnerability and streamline execution, efficiency, data flow and vendor management across their locations.
"Many people think of hackers or viruses when they think of a data breach, but off-network devices that hold sensitive data are also at risk," says David Kutoff, President and CEO of MPC, "Organizations face huge fines for exposing customer data. An average HIPAA violation, for example, costs around $240 per record. If equipment is improperly disposed, a resulting data breach or environmental crisis could cost hefty fines and damage your reputation. Our ultimate goal is to mitigate that risk for our customers."
Recipients of the 2013 Tekne Awards will be announced at the award ceremony on Nov. 6. The event will begin with a VIP reception at 4:30 p.m., followed by general registration and reception at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. The event will be emceed by Paul Douglas, author, entrepreneur and meteorologist.
