The standard hand set length was reduced to 16” to reduce the chance of the hand set being used as a weapon or choking device. The phones are also designed to endure public abuse and tampering as well as low or high temperatures, dust, water and corrosion.
To provide flexibility and room for growth, Guardian’s correctional telephones can easily be connected to any telephone network with standard wiring and parts. Voice quality is unaffected when phones are connected within 15,000 feet.
