Telehealth Veteran Robert E. Sass, Jr. Joins AMC Health As Chief Operating Officer

Sass, Jr. has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Sass brings 30 years of experience in the international healthcare industry, of which 15 years has been focused on the telehealth and virtual care market sectors.

Mr. Sass joins a seasoned management team at AMC Health. Executive leadership boasts a strong group of senior executives with significant management experience in technology, operations, business development, healthcare, government, and clinical trials.
Prior to joining AMC Health, Mr. Sass was President and General Manager of SHL Telemedicine, USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SHL Telemedicine Ltd, a leading provider and developer of advanced personal telemedicine solutions. Mr. Sass established an operating business unit in the US that included operations, distribution, sales and marketing for a cardiology medical device and service company. Previously, he was with Philips Healthcare as Sr. Director, Sales North America – Remote Patient Monitoring and Raytel Medical Corporation as President and General Manager, prior to its acquisition by Philips Healthcare. As a member of the Philips Home Monitoring Senior Management Team, Mr. Sass led the relaunch of their Telehealth business and the integration of the newly acquired cardiology business while driving double digit growth rates for more than five consecutive years. Most notably, his entry into the virtual care arena was through Viterion Healthcare, LLC, where he served as Director and Corporate Officer. He was responsible for the formation of the commercial operations of a new business jointly owned by Bayer Healthcare and Panasonic. He also led the effort to gain one of the first telehealth national contracts with the US Department of Veterans Affairs.
Mr. Sass received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. He is also a founding board member of the Remote Cardiac Services Group, Inc. in Washington, D.C. and served as its President from 2012-2014.
