Ten CEUs Available to USAT Coaches at the RVA Endurance Athlete Symposium and Expo
Richmond, VA (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- USA Triathlon (USAT) coaches can earn 10 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for attending the inaugural Richmond Endurance Athlete Symposium and Expo on Feb. 1, 2014, USAT confirmed this week.
USAT, the national governing body for triathlons, has certified more than 2,000 triathlon coaches in the U.S. to help develop athletes in the fastest growing sport in the U.S. Olympic Movement.
Billed as a day of motivation and education, the Tidewater Physical Therapy-hosted symposium and expo will feature six international, national and local speakers, including international triathlete Michellie Jones, Olympic coach Chris Carmichael and elite professional cyclist Frankie Andreu.
In addition to the athletes and coaches who will speak, the event includes the following educational sessions:
- Recognizing Swimmer’s Shoulder: Causes, Treatments and Return to Endurance Following Injury
- Running Injuries and Applying Principles of Biomechanics to Prevent Injury
- Training for the Time Crunched Athlete
- Physiologic Parameters for the Endurance Athlete
- Mental Training: Don’t Let Your Thoughts Limit Success
Registration to attend the event is $25 in advance or $35 at the door. Students with a valid high school or College ID can attend for $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Seating is limited and pre-registration is encouraged.
Registration for coaches seeking the USAT CEU Credits is $60.
Proceeds from this event will benefit Richmond 2015 and The Brain Injury Association of Virginia (BIAV).
Richmond 2015 is the organization that will bring top cyclists from around the world to Richmond to compete in the world cycling championships. BIAV is committed to advancing brain injury prevention, research, treatment and education and to improving the quality of life for all individuals impacted by brain injury.
