Those who participated in the free screenings at Custom Compounding Centers of America were given a facial skin analysis, a simple test that uses Type A ultraviolet (UV) light to show the sun damage that is invisible to the naked human eye. The condition of the skin below the surface is illuminated in various fluorescent hues, making sun-damaged areas, blocked pores, oily and dry spots visible. Participants also received a Summer Care Bag that contained information and products, including UV protection sunscreen, sunglasses, and lip balm. Also included were lotions, vitamins, assorted skin care products, and other goodies.
Most sun exposure in a person’s lifetime occurs between the ages 19 and 40.
