Terma's JAWS™ Dominates Cross-Vendor Workload Analytics
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- In a recent marketing study, Terma Software found that over 73% of its customers and prospects used workload automation (job scheduling) software from multiple vendors. Those solutions included CA’s AutoSys and CA7, BMC’s ControlM, Cisco’s Tidal, and IBM’s TWS. Terma’s flagship product, JAWS Workload Analytics, remains the only platform providing a ‘Single Pane of Glass’ solution. Currently, the product supports analytics for AutoSys and CA7 shops, and integrates Tidal into its customer workload monitoring and management platform. The company is currently developing integration with BMC’s ControlM expected GA by the first quarter of 2016 and IBM’s TWS soon thereafter.
“What we’ve found is that corporations are hesitant to migrate their workload to alternative scheduling products because the process of doing so is extremely labor-intensive and risky, while the benefits are not guaranteed. What JAWS enables these companies to do is to maintain their current, sometimes legacy, workload environments but still modernize them using JAWS for their much-needed analytics,” says Jim Anderson, V.P. Product Strategy at Terma.
In a recent paper released by Gartner entitled, “Mapping Workload Automation to IT Bimodal Needs,” analysts Biswajeet Mahapatra and Milind Govekar cite Terma Software as only one of two Workload Analytics vendors. Of the two, only Terma offers cross-vendor support.
“It’s very validating that the type of technology that Terma has developed over the past decade has found its way into other IT domains. The growth and acceptance of analytics across all areas of the enterprise has become key to enabling those companies to analyze data and make decisions at massive scale in real-time. Real-time monitoring, prediction and historical analysis are the functions that Terma has brought to job scheduling since the founding of the company over a decade ago,” says Shane Hade, CEO of Terma. “It only makes sense that our technology would be dominant in the field and a solution for companies determined to remain independent of a single vendor’s solutions.”
