Terra.com Will Broadcast the 8th Edition of Brazilian Day San Diego, Street Fair and Parade
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 23, 2015 -- The 8th Annual Brazilian Day San Diego, Street Fair and Parade is the largest Brazilian Festival in the United States, after Brazilian Day, New York, attracting nearly 50,000 attendees annually. This year Terra.com will debut the event online to 19 countries including the U.S., Spain, and others throughout Latin America.
The event will take place Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 11:00am until 7:00pm, on Garnet Avenue between Bayard St. and Everts St. in Pacific Beach. The parade is scheduled from 3:00-4:00pm.
Brazilian Day will once again bring the spirit of Brazil to the heart of San Diego’s iconic beach town, Pacific Beach. The event is located just one block from the beach, on five blocks of the lively Garnet Avenue. The event provides a day for the entire community to come together to embrace the cultural flavors, sounds, and arts of Brazil. It is free to the public, and provides activities and entertainment the whole family can enjoy. Children will enjoy a kids’ zone with face painting, inflatables, and activities led by Nos de Chita, a performing arts group that involves children in storytelling, body percussion, and games. The taste of Brazil brings savory favorites like churrasco (BBQ) and feijoada (bean stew), and sweets like the typical açai bowl. Vendors will also serve up other fair favorites, as well as display arts, crafts, souvenirs and more. Non-stop entertainment will take place on two stages with energetic music and spectacular dance ensembles.
The highlight of the festival is the parade, Inspired by the quintessential carnival parades that take place each year throughout the diverse regions of Brazil. Garnet Avenue transforms into a stage filled with vibrant floats, extravagant costumes, and contagious rhythms. The theme for the 2015 parade is: The Olympic Spirit, and Rio de Janeiro, as the proud host of the 2016 Summer Games.
Brazilian Day San Diego is produced by Brazilian Institute for Arts and Culture, a 501 (c) (3) local non-profit organization. Its mission is to facilitate the education of Brazilian arts and culture for community enrichment, by providing educational programs and community festivals for all ages, promoting Brazilian dance, music, literature, folklore, traditions, capoeira, and the Portuguese language.
