Tesco Lotus Opens its Doors in Thailand’s Ao Nang
(PRWEB) November 28, 2013 -- Tesco Lotus is a well-known and trusted brand in Thailand. The supermarket chain started trading in 1998 when the British company Tesco took a stake in the Lotus Supercentre chain, which led to the creation of Tesco Lotus. There is now a network of over 1,400 stores across Thailand and they serve an estimated 12 million customers each week. After months of anticipation during the construction and fitting-out of the store, Tesco Lotus held a grand opening ceremony for its new Ao Nang store on Friday 22nd November.
Tesco Lotus is very customer focussed and the company has stores in a range of formats to ensure they meet the needs of the communities they serve. The new Ao Nang store is fitted-out in the Lotus Market format, which means it will provide customers with a wide selection of goods. This will include all essential groceries, healthcare products, clothing and electrical equipment. Ao Nang already has a good selection of convenience stores and souvenir shops available for both its inhabitants and its tourists, although nothing that can equal the new Tesco Lotus store. As a result, the opening of the new store is an exciting development for the town.
Tesco Lotus is also committed to community responsibility and the company encourages its staff to participate in volunteering opportunities. In fact, during 2012, its staff spent over 2 million hours volunteering for their local communities. The company also founded the Tesco for Thais Foundation in 2003, and since then an estimated 450 million Baht has been contributed to worthy charities and social projects, together with providing 27,000 scholarships to needy children from across Thailand. Clearly, the inhabitants of Ao Nang will welcome the opening of the new store due to both the convenience and the opportunities that it will bring.
The opening of the new store is also exciting news for Krabi Riviera. The company manages a portfolio of exceptional holiday villas in the Ao Nang area and prides itself in delivering the highest standards in customer service to all its guests. Ao Nang has so much to offer holidaymakers due to its outstanding beach and stunning scenery, and the town has an excellent range of restaurants and bars available. The addition of the Tesco Lotus store will also enable holidaymakers to meet all their shopping needs in Ao Nang, which is excellent news for those staying in the area. What's more, the new store is conveniently located approximately five minutes away from Krabi Riviera's villas, and it will open daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
With its community focussed attitude, convenient location and range of merchandise, the new Tesco Lotus store in Ao Nang is set to be a great success.
