Texas based Marines aim to Protect those who Protect us with a new simple yet innovative concept
Lewisville, Texas (PRWEB) May 09, 2014 -- On October 30, 2006, Sergeant M. Algrim a Marine, was killed from a fatal gunshot wound. Surprisingly enough this was not caused behind enemy lines but on home turf within Camp Pendelton. Algrim is not the only case of fatalities as a result of negligent discharges, in fact 10 other soldiers since 2005 have been killed.
“Why is there not a separate magazine for non-lethal ammunition when soldiers train?”
Mathew Harding a fellow Marine of Algrim as well as president and owner of SafeTacMag, LLC states that they have developed a cost-effective product that will solve the issue of fatalities associated with training. The SafeTacMag M16 magazine is designed to prevent unnecessary fatal accidents by preventing the user from loading live ammunition into the magazine.
Aside from providing a much safer way for our heroes to train, Harding states that the magazine will also reduce costs, improve training experience, and is much more economically viable in comparison to the company’s competitors.
“By donating to SafeTacMag, LLC, you will be helping soldiers around the world train safer and prevent fatal and unnecessary accidents.”
SafeTacMag, LLC is currently running a campaign on Repayvets.com, the leading crowd-funding platform for repaying veterans to raise funds for putting these magazines into production. Donors can receive a SafeTacMag T-shirt for a $25 backing or a session with the top military professionals where they can actually test the magazines at Fort Benning.
Currently the company is in the process of obtaining patents for several different types of rifles from AK-47s’ to main steam sub-machine guns which are popular in European militaries as well as domestic law enforcement agencies.
The company is really driven to put a stop to fatalities associated with training and are seeking to raise $50,000 on their Indiegogo page to make these safer magazine clips a reality.
