TexPTS Sponsors San Antonio Wounded Warrior Project 8k Run
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) July 03, 2013 -- Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS) is proud to sponsor the 2013 San Antonio Wounded Warrior Project 8k Run. The event, on Saturday September 21st, is an opportunity to show support for our wounded troops and raise money to help them make the successful transition to civilian life.
This is the first year TexPTS has sponsored the run. As part of this year’s commitment and to raise the internal excitement for the event, TexPTS is engaging their employees by hosting a poster contest between its clinics. Each location will design a run poster to display throughout the clinic. The friendly competition is a way to promote the event and raise money for the TexPTS team. In addition, the company will run a water station at the run.
“We understand the great sacrifice our troops make when serving abroad,” said Rob Wainner, PT, PhD and TexPTS co-owner. “There’s no way to truly thank them for their service but by sponsoring and participating in the Wounded Warrior Project race we hope to help wounded men and women make a smooth transition back to civilian life.”
This year’s event will start and finish at McAllister Park; runners can pick up their packets beginning at 7:30 a.m. with the race beginning at 9 a.m. Registration is $25 from now until August 21st, after which point it goes up to $35; the registration fee for members of the Military is $15. Each runner is required to raise a minimum of $99 for the Wounded Warrior Project. There is also a 1K Fun Run for children ages 12 and under; registration for the Fun Run is $15.
