TFT Display/Solar Cell Manufacture, DNA Detection, Lithium-Ion Battery and Bioethanol Production Patents Available from ICAP Patent Brokerage
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 13, 2015 -- ICAP Patent Brokerage announces for sale multiple patent portfolios disclosing methods of improved thin-film transistor (TFT) semiconductor manufacture, polynucleotide sensing and detecting, and lithium-ion battery and bioethanol production. These portfolios will be offered in an exclusive corporate auction featuring assets from Third Patent Portfolio Investment Company and Patentfonds, with a bidding deadline of March 26th, 2015.
“This auction contains valuable portfolios for companies producing solar cells and flat panel displays, as well as manufacturers of organic detection equipment, lithium-ion batteries, and bioethanol,” says Dean Becker, CEO of ICAP Patent Brokerage.
Key Characteristics & Benefits
The auction will feature five novel portfolios:
Lot 1: Polycrystalline layering, or deposition, is an essential step in the production of spatially extended circuit elements, in particular solar cells and monitors based on thin-film transistor (TFT) technology. This portfolio discloses methods for the production of polycrystalline layers with a lower density of impurity than the precursor material, resulting in decreased display switching times and improved solar cell efficiency.
See the technical description of the enhanced semiconductor IP sales offering.
Lot 2: Traditional polycrystalline deposition methods require material to be grown on substrate, produced under vacuum. This portfolio discloses a novel component which allows for simple industrial production of semiconductor layers via liquid or gas suspension. Importantly, application of the layer is not required to be performed under vacuum, utilizing a protective gas atmosphere instead. Semiconductor sales are expected to reach $358 billion in 2015.

Lot 3: State of the art detection of polynucleotides, such as those found in DNA, require extensive preparation and have the potential to negatively impact results. This portfolio discloses high-resolution, accurate methods for proving the simultaneous existence of multiple polynucleotide sequence using terahertz (THz) frequency radiation with minimal preparation. The global DNA diagnostics market is expected to generate $19 billion by 2020.
See the technical description of the detection equipment IP sales offering.
Lot 4: High heat resistance is an essential aspect of lithium-ion battery manufacture, as it ensures maximum voltage charge can be applied to the cell, as well as allowing for decreased charging time. This portfolio discloses lithium-ion battery and methods for developing lithium-ion batteries having a membrane of higher heat resistance by coating the anode using a specific high-frequency plasma powder coating process. The lithium-ion battery market earned revenues of $17.58 billion in 2013 and is estimated to more than quadruple by 2020.

Lot 5: Easy access to enzymes and reduced enzyme costs are necessary to the manufacture of many industrial products. This portfolio discloses an innovative whole-cell catalyst technology that facilitates organic transformations such as redox-reactions and the hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass from annual plants and wood fibres to sugars, which can then be converted to ethanol. In the production of bioethanol, this reduces the need for off-site enzyme production and contributes to a lower overall production price per gallon. Global biofuel production is estimated to reach 1,900 Million barrel in 2020, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% over the forecast period 2015 – 2020.
