The 2013 Southern Living Idea House is Decked out in A.E.R.T.'s MoistureShield Composite Decking
Springdale, Ark. (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Need inspiration for your outdoor living spaces? The Southern Living Idea House showcases 2,800 square feet of decks, porches and patio spaces – all built with MoistureShield® composite decking. The high-performance decking is featured throughout seven outdoor living spaces on the main house, guest house, garage apartment and two “bunkies” (his and hers apartments) at the Fontanel Mansion in Nashville, Tennessee.
Every year, Southern Living selects a project team to develop one “Idea House” that inspires consumers to experiment in their own homes. The 2013 Idea House at Fontanel respects historic tradition and reflects timeless Southern style by keeping a warm neutral pallet indoors and creating an intimate courtyard perfect for the traditional comfort of Southern outdoor living. The five buildings are arranged in a U shape with each one boasting a beautiful deck or porch and lush gardens ideal for entertaining.
The property is the former home of Country Music Hall of Fame® member Barbara Mandrell and functions as an entertainment venue year around. The Southern Living Idea House will be open to the public for tours through December, 2013, and then be re-opened as a luxury boutique hotel in 2014. Tickets can be purchased for $12 on site and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Artwork from the hospital's patients will be displayed in the Fontanel Resource Center as a celebration of the children's artistic talent and personal expression.
“Southern Living embraces the region's rich culture, including its love of outdoor living spaces, so we're pleased to be part of their trend-setting Idea House,” said Brent Gwatney, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MoistureShield. “They may only be doing the public tours for a year, but our beautiful decking will look great for a long time to come no matter what the Southern climate throws at it.”
MoistureShield and their distributor BlueLinx partnered to provide 13,600 lineal feet of decking for the Idea House. To match the soft creams and grays of the house’s indoor décor, the decks showcase MoistureShield’s Earthtone color from the Vantage Collection.
MoistureShield composite decking and railing is available in eight attractive colors and with realistic embossed wood grain patterns for enduring beauty. With 95% total recycled content, MoistureShield is also an environmentally responsible choice for your decking needs.
