The 2016 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships to be held in Emporia, Kansas
Emporia, Kansas (PRWEB) June 27, 2016 -- The 2016 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships, hosted by Dynamic Discs, will take place from Saturday, August 6 through Saturday, August 13. Disc golfers from across the globe will congregate for a grueling challenge to crown the new world champions in each division.
“The PDGA, Dynamic Discs, Emporia Main Street and the Emporia Convention and Visitors Bureau certainly have the experience and manpower to host the 2016 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships,” said Doug Bjerkaas, Assistant Tournament Director. "Dynamic Discs has been running and hosting PDGA events for 11 years with great success and support from the disc golf community. Recently, Dynamic Discs has hosted the 2013 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships and the 2016 Glass Blown Open National Tour event."

For Dynamic Discs owner and founder Jeremy Rusco, the 2016 Pro World Championships will be another way for Dynamic Discs and the city of Emporia to come together to create a one-of-a-kind disc golf experience for spectators and competitors alike.
“We were privileged to host the 2013 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships,” Rusco explained. “That experience did a lot for Dynamic Discs as well as the city of Emporia. We both learned a lot about the value of disc golf for our brand as well as the financial impact that such a tournament can have on a small town.”
Dynamic Discs lined up quite a warm-up event for the Pro World Championships in the form of the 2016 Glass Blown Open, which took place from Thursday, April 28 through Saturday, April 30. Nearly 1200 participants, including 52 international players from six different countries, ascended upon Emporia for a record-setting tournament.
“If you ask most professional disc golfers, being the PDGA World Champion is the highest honor one can achieve because it moves around the country each year," Bjerkaas said. “The last five World Championships have been held in Pennsylvania, Oregon, North Carolina, Indiana and California. Most annual tournaments take place in the same location and on the same courses each year."
Registration began on April 22nd and four-time and current Men’s World Champion Paul McBeth and three-time and current Women’s World Champion Paige Pierce are expected to defend their titles.
For Dynamic Discs owner Jeremy Rusco, the Pro World Championships is a special event for him, Dynamic Discs and the city of Emporia.

The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is the professional association for all disc golfers and the source for disc golf courses, tournament results, and the official rules of disc golf.
