The Alzheimer’s Store Partners with Alzheimer’s Association to Raise Funds; Will Donate 1% of Gross Sales to Alzheimer’s Association®
New York, New York (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- The Alzheimer’s Store (ALZSTORE.COM) is an online resource dedicated to providing unique products and information for those caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia. They’ve recently created a cause-marketing partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association® to raise funds for research and enhanced care and support for those affected by the disease on a global, national and local level.
The Alzheimer’s Store will donate one percent (1%) of its gross sales from items purchased at ALZSTORE.COM to the Alzheimer’s Association, the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Healthcare Products donations from the Alzheimer’s Store will help the Association in its efforts to create a world without Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer's Association has not endorsed any of the Alzheimer's Store products. The Alzheimer Store will not receive any compensation from the Alzheimer's Association for or relating to this promotion.
The Alzheimer’s Store was founded by Mark and Ellen Warner in 2003 after Mark authored his best-selling book, The Complete Guide to Alzheimer's Proofing Your Home. In 2012, the Barnet Family, founders of Healthcare Products, LLC, purchased and greatly expanded this online store. Their inspiration came after experiencing the joy and hardship of caring for their grandfather, George, who endured Alzheimer’s. The Barnet grandchildren created “For the Love of George,” popular cocktail fundraisers held for young professionals. These events are now run by experienced planners and the money raised goes toward Alzheimer's research and education.
The Alzheimer’s Store went one step further and rapidly expanded its online presence to include many affiliated sites in the assisted living homecare agency market. Further built from a solid foundation from its former operators, The Alzheimer’s Store will continue to expand to meet consumers’ needs. On target to accommodate the changing landscape that is Alzheimer’s, the company has grown to a fully staffed 2,500 square foot warehouse in just one year. Student interns from Georgia University at ABAC in Tifton, Georgia work in their warehouse fulfilling orders and get trained in online sales and marketing.
The Alzheimer’s Store provides educational resources and health-related products that make life more enjoyable for caregivers and those afflicted with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Their products include picture memory phones, footwear implanted with GPS tracking technology, automatic medication dispensers, memory boxes, and clocks and talking motion detector devices to prevent patients from wandering. A variety of other useful items are available as well. They also feature a Free Home Safety Evaluation from its list of certified contractors to help family members and caregivers make their loved one’s living environments safe and enjoyable.
Brittany Barnet, Director of Affiliate Sales at The Alzheimer’s Store, commented, “With more than five million Americans living with Alzheimer’s today, it is essential that we provide the necessary care for seniors during the later stages of their lives. Partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association will allow us to make our numerous products available to caregivers and family members of those suffering with Alzheimer’s; this will help ease the stress for caring for their loved ones. The funds donated from our product sales will go to the Alzheimer’s Association’s acceleration of new treatments, preventions and hopefully, a cure.”
