The Association KREYOL VIBRATIONS Presents CARIMEX (Caribbean Islands Music Exposition)
Fort-de-France, Martinique (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- From Oct. 3-5 the first edition of the Caribbean Islands Music Exposition (CARIMEX) will take place in Le Lamentin, Martinique. It will be the first time a Caribbean Music Salon is organized in the region and being sponsored by the Society of Authors, Composers and Musicians (SACEM), France's number one authors' licensing and collecting society (http://www.sacem.fr/cms/site/en/home?pop=1).
CARIMEX will bring together representatives of the Cariforum (15 member states of the Caribbean who have signed the LOME IV Convention) as well as other international delegations from Cuba, Brazil, Haiti, Europe and Canada in an effort to foster exchanges and collaborations.
The goal of CARIMEX is threefold:
- Promoting the Caribbean Identity, with a new and innovative cultural project.
- Promoting emerging and confirmed Caribbean artists.
- Reinforcing the action of the Martinique Tourism Committee through the media and foreign delegations.
According to Philippe CHOTARD, in charge of media relations for the Carimex, ¨CARIMEX will host foreign delegations and professionals of the music industry in the floral park of Le Lamentin. This will be an important cultural moment but will also bring great visibility to Martinique. The tourism industry will certainly promote the Island of Flowers to foreign visitors for whom this could be their very first visit.¨
For 3 days, CARIMEX will host showcases of 140 artists on 4 different stages and offer more than 62 hours of live music.
From 10 am until 2 pm, artists from Martinique will perform non-stop on 3 different stages (Backstage, Cabaret and Diapason) through 30 minutes showcases to promote their craft to the public and professional representatives. They will also perform from 2pm until 3pm on the Arpège stage.
Then from 3pm until 6:45 PM, artists from each foreign delegation will be able to showcase their work on the Arpège Stage. Following each showcase, artists will be invited to join the CARIMEX Studio to be interviewed. The recordings will be edited and dubbed in the language of the country of origin of the artist and transmitted to their country by the teams of BMTV.TV Media.
The event will also offer workshops and networking opportunities, for example through the Apéro that will be held every evening from 7 to 8 PM. A major evening show will close each day from 8pm until midnight. The line-up for the evening concerts includes so far artists and groups such as Malavoi (Pipo GERTRUDE, Ralph Thamar, Tony Chasseur), Fall Fret, Quintet Eric Ildefonse, Ronald Tulle, G'NY, Fanny J, Kalash, Sael, Ario. X-man, Lieutenant, Jmax and Alex Catherine.
Evening concerts tickets only are on sale for 30 € through Brown Paper Tickets. Passes are also available and will give the pass holder the opportunity to attend the Apéro and intimate concert every day from 7PM-8PM. One-day passes are available for 40 €, 2-day passes for 70 € and 3-day passes for 100 €.
The Carimex Salon aims at becoming a major international music salon in the Caribbean region and will position itself amongst other similar events such as le MIDEM de Cannes, Babel Med, Atlantic Music Expo, Sakifo, WOMEX and Les Bis de Nantes.
