The Association of Information Technology Professionals’ National Collegiate Conference Travels to Omaha in 2015
Mount Laurel, NJ (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will host their National Collegiate Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, March 26-29, 2015. The 2015 event will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the conference and competition event.
“Students who attended previous conferences enjoyed meeting other students from all over the United States, interacting with the companies in attendance, competing against other students in the many competitions, talking to professional members in attendance and going to sessions and listening to conference speakers,” said Vicki Hampton of AITP.
Although the conference invites students to connect, there are many competitions that encourage students to test their knowledge and skills against their peers. The event features numerous contests and workshops sponsored by major companies that help college students interested in information technology network, learn and compete against one another.
“There are many competitions for all students to enter including Database Design, Enterprise Systems, Visual Studio, JAVA, Mobile Apps and Network Design to name a few,” said Hampton.
“Students can compete in numerous contests including two IBM sponsored contests. For those who want to participate in the competition, they should check out http://www.aitpncc-contests.org, the official AITP NCC Contest Website," said Kevin Jetton, AITP’s National Collegiate Conference Director.
Arguably, the most beneficial aspect of the conference is the connections students make with industry leaders and hiring managers in the IT industry.
“Students can interact and network with companies such as IBM, State Farm and USAA,” said Hampton. “Students can also earn certifications at the conference including CBCA and ICCP certifications.”
Registration for the conference is now open at http://www.aitp.org/ncc.
“Student members interested in getting involved with AITP or volunteering for the NCC should contact Kevin Jetton, NCC director (kjetton(at)satx.rr(dot)com). Non-members should contact Vanessa Smith (vsmith(at)aitp(dot)org) at the AITP headquarters for more information.”
The conference features numerous sponsors who allow students to participate in events, attend sessions and meet with officials at their companies. Current sponsors include: Union Pacific, State Farm, IBM, Google, and the Foundation for Information Technology Education.
On Friday, March 27, conference sponsor Union Pacific will host Union Pacific Day. Attendees will have the chance to meet with Union Pacific officials, compete in contests, experience Union Pacific hands-on interactive stations and receive an on-site interview with the company.
More sponsors and exhibitors are in the process of being confirmed. If interested in exhibiting or sponsoring the event, contact Kevin Jetton at kjetton(at)satx.rr(dot)com.
