The Biggest Boating Weekend of the Year, And You Don’t Have Any Kids’ Life Jackets?
ANNAPOLIS, MD (PRWEB) June 29, 2015 -- The July 4th holiday is the biggest weekend on the water for boating and you don’t have enough kid’s life jackets for the little ones planning to come aboard for the fireworks and fun. What do you do?
Before you try putting a child in an adult life jacket, go to BoatUS.org/lifejacketupdate to find one near you. It’s the website for the BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water’s kids’ Life Jacket Loaner Program that makes it easy to borrow a right-sized child’s life jacket for the day, afternoon, or weekend at no cost. Now, in addition to sponsoring over nearly 600 local, free life jacket loaner sites across the country, they’ve included over 900 other loaner program sites on the map to give parents and boaters more options.
“It’s the largest map of life jacket loaner sites in the nation,” said BoatUS Foundation Outreach Manager Alanna Keating. “Finding a loaner life jacket has never been easier, and we help prevent the biggest two mistakes, which is going without or putting a child in a life jacket that doesn’t fit.”
Each year, the Foundation loaner sites lend out life jackets over 140,000 times.
