The Bill Howe Family of Companies Continues Support for the American Heart Association in Upcoming Fundraiser
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- The Bill Howe Family of Companies has been a part of the local community since 1980. Beginning with just one plumber offering drain cleanings out of a small shop in Pacific Beach, they have grown into one of the largest family-owned and operated companies providing expert services in San Diego: HVAC repair and installation, plumbing and drain cleaning, and restoration and flood services. Part of the success has been a dedication to cultivating a “pay-it-forward” spirit in their business, community and family.
The San Diego plumber has been sponsoring the American Heart Association for the past three years. As part of the sponsorship, the Bill Howe Family of Companies hosts a 90-day “Howe” Healthy is Your Heart drawing contest, which reaches out to children ages 5-12 and their families, promoting healthy and active lifestyles. The grand prize winner receives a $250 gift card to Toys ‘R Us and four runners-up also receive $100 gift cards. The company also sponsors the AHA “Beach” Ball in June donates $25,000 annually and they have committed to two more years.
The AHA raises funds throughout the year with several different events including the 22nd annual Walk, the Association’s premiere national walking event. The Heart Walk promotes an active lifestyle and heart health, while also celebrating heart disease and stroke survivors. Individuals or teams raise funds and in 2012, the San Diego Heart Walk drew approximately 7,500 people and raised 1.2 million to help fund stroke and cardiovascular research and education programs. The San Diego plumber and company will be participating for the second time and are looking forward to helping raise funds and enjoying the 5k route through historic downtown ending at Petco Park.
“We are really looking forward to the Heart Walk this year,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of the Bill Howe Family of Companies. “We have recently begun a full wellness program and are tying this walk in to motivate our employees to get active and support heart health. We anticipate a good turn out and hope to raise money for the American Heart Association.”
The event will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Opening ceremonies begin early at 6:50 in the morning at Petco Park. The Bill Howe Team will attend with their families and “pay-it-forward” spirit.
