The Blessing of Movement: Caring for a Loved One After Paralysis
HOUSTON (PRWEB) February 17, 2016 -- An overweight, bullied teen becomes the caregiver of her estranged, quadriplegic sister, and so begins the story of Deborah Konrad.
In her new book, The Blessing of Movement, Konrad details her journey of caring for her disabled sister and overcoming her own insecurities, all while growing up in a racially divided Jim Crow south.
“I am a true believer that the most trying of times can often be the most restorative,” Konrad said. “It is my hope that this book will be an example of how one can flourish despite circumstances.”
Through her story, Konrad offers readers advice on caring for loved ones, as well as reconnecting with family members with whom they’ve lost touch.
“Family truly is forever,” Konrad said. “And unconditional love heals all.”
