The Bozzuto Group Announces Two New Tenants to Join Monroe Street Market in Washington, D.C.
Greenbelt, MD (PRWEB) April 04, 2014 -- The Bozzuto Group, a Greenbelt, MD-based real estate services company, today announced that two Washington, DC-based retailers are teaming up to join Monroe Street Market. Monroe Street Market is a multi-phase, mixed-use development located on five city blocks in Washington, D.C., adjacent to the Brookland-CUA Metro station, and across the street from Catholic University.
Local businesses The Bike Rack and Filter Coffeehouse have leased a combined 2,546-square-foot space in the Brookland Works building, located along Monroe Street NE between Michigan Avenue and 7th Street NE. Construction is scheduled to begin shortly and the new establishment is expected to open in fall 2014.
The Bike Rack is a full-service, independent bike shop run by people who care about cycling and who strive to improve the cycling experience of every customer – with outstanding service and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The Bike Rack, with a current location at 1412 Q Street NW, works to build a strong cycling community with weekend rides, clinics, local partnerships, clubs, teams, and active involvement in local cycling advocacy.
Filter Coffeehouse and Espresso Bar currently has two Washington, DC locations – one in Dupont Circle and one in Foggy Bottom. The shop offers hand-poured cups of carefully chosen single origin coffees, french pressed offerings in the morning hours, and classic espresso-based drinks – all chosen and prepared with an uncompromising commitment to quality and service. Filter’s coffees are carefully roasted by Ceremony Coffee, a local roaster in Annapolis, MD.
“With the addition of The Bike Rack and Filter Coffeehouse to the vibrant mix of residences, arts, shops and restaurants at Monroe Street Market, we are bringing two of D.C.’s best locally-established businesses to the Brookland community,” said Toby Bozzuto, president, The Bozzuto Group.
The Bozzuto Group, Catholic University, and Abdo Development broke ground on Monroe Street Market in November 2011. A multi-phase project, the development will ultimately consist of three buildings, Brookland Works, Portland Flats and Cornerstone, encompassing approximately 720 residences, 45 townhomes, 83,000 square feet of street-level retail, 15,000 square feet of artist studio space, a 3,000 square-foot community arts center, and 850 parking spaces.
The pet-friendly apartment community will feature nearly 20,000 square feet of amenity space, including indoor and outdoor lounges with fireplaces; a 24-hour fitness center with yoga/Pilates studio; lounge, community room, and billiards; E-cafe; outdoor grilling stations; spa-style pool with expansive sundeck; outdoor lounges with bars and grills; as well as lush, beautifully landscaped courtyards.
In June 2013, Monroe Street Market announced its first retail tenant, &pizza. Since then, Monroe Street Market has announced four more tenants, including Barnes & Noble, Busboys and Poets, Brookland Pint, and Potbelly Sandwich Shop.
The Monroe Street Market leasing office is now open at 716 Monroe Street NE, Washington, DC 20017. For more information, visit http://www.monroestreetmarket.com or call (866) 339-1478.
