The British Assessment Bureau achieve UKAS accreditation to ISO 9001:2015
(PRWEB UK) 16 December 2015 -- It has been confirmed that the British Assessment Bureau have been named by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) as one of the first Certification Bodies to be granted accreditation for the new ISO 9001:2015 standard.
This was successfully achieved through an assessment by both UKAS and witnessed client audits, ensuring BAB met the strict criteria that are expected by the National Accreditation Body.
Chief Executive, David Fenn commented on the news, “ISO 9001 certification helps our clients demonstrate that they are a cut above the rest. We therefore saw it as a priority to invest in the UKAS early adopter scheme for the new ISO 9001:2015 standard so that clients can be in a position to further demonstrate that they are best of breed.”
The British Assessment Bureau’s clients are now able to demonstrate they meet the very latest in global best practice for quality management with the new ISO 9001:2015 revision, which focuses on a risk-based approach and greater leadership involvement.
ISO 9001:2015 certificates issued by BAB are backed by the UKAS ‘Crown and Tick’ logo, which is vital for recognition in tender situations. UKAS is the only recognised and government-recommended Accreditation Body in the United Kingdom, and the British Assessment Bureau is one of just a handful of Certification Bodies who currently provide certification to ISO 9001:2015.
The revised quality standard brings an integrated approach with other ISO management standards, as well as a greater integration of quality management into organisational strategies. ISO 9001:2015 also introduces risk-based thinking together with a less prescriptive way of meeting the standard’s requirements.
Keith Goddard, Head of Certification at the British Assessment Bureau believes the new standard “is more accessible than ever, whilst providing an opportunity for those with existing management systems to benchmark themselves against a global consensus of best practice.”
Those organisations already certified to the outgoing ISO 9001:2008 have three years to make the transition to the new version. To aid them, the British Assessment Bureau offers a Gap Analysis audit service so that clients can approach ISO 9001:2015 with confidence.
