The Carey Foundation Announces Partnership with Breast Cancer Non-Profits
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 10, 2014 -- Today the organizations announced that grants were provided to For 3 Sisters and CancerCare®, two organizations with programs dedicated to improving the quality of life of people affected by this disease.
“Our business manager, Marcela Shine, told me about For 3 Sisters last year. I knew immediately that the work they were doing lined up with our mission. Their dedication to breast cancer stems from a personal experience, just like ours,” said Linda Carey, President of the Carey Foundation. “Their Road to Resources Program enables me to offer a solution to those that need early support as they navigate through breast cancer. A program I really could have used when I was first diagnosed.”
Shannon Marshall shares her thoughts on the partnership; "When we learned that The Carey Foundation was interested in partnering with For 3 Sisters to help men and women fighting breast cancer, we were down right giddy! Both organizations have agreed on the exact use of funds for breast cancer-related costs not typically covered by insurance. For 3 Sisters will focus on growing their Road to Resources Program. CancerCare® will use it to fund a combination of services, including compression garments, private wig fittings, child care services and travel to treatment. “We’re very excited to work with two organizations that have similar missions as ours,” said Photographer Bob Carey, “Through our own experience with breast cancer, we know that there is a big gap between what insurance companies cover and what cancer actually costs.”
